Save the Children is a global membership organization, made up of Save the Children International and 30 national members.
Save the Children shares one name, one strategy and one ambition for all children to survive, learn and be protected. It champions the rights and interests of children worldwide, putting the most vulnerable children first.
In Bangladesh, Save the Children started its journey 53 years ago in 1970 in response to the devastating cyclone that hit Bhola island. They began by providing children and their families with emergency food supplies and medical assistance. Since then, they have been actively working across the country with the government, civil society organizations, businesses, and others to give children the opportunities they deserve- to grow up healthy, to learn, and to be safe. When a crisis strikes, Save the Children is among the first to stand beside and support children and the last to leave. With 1200 dedicated staff and over 850 volunteers across the country, Save the Children respond to major emergencies, deliver innovative development programmes, and ensure children’s voices are heard through its campaigning to build a better future for and with children.
